Easter Sunday - April 4th Praise God==Christ Arose == Sunny Beautiful
The Camp Ground we are staying at is called Raccoon Creek and this morning I found out why. We got up at 5:00 am to get ready for the Sunrise Service, and I took Estee out to go potty and here is what met me at the door. I think Estee was too sleepy to realize what was happening, so I had to bring her back in and shoo the raccoon away and then took Estee back out.
We had a lovely service on the Gulf of Mexico this morning, great attendance, with choir and two chaplains. After the service we went back to the Base Church Annex for a huge breakfast, even had biscuits and sausage gravy. Everything was prepared by the base kitchen staff, thats allows all of the church staff to attend the services. After breakfast we ran back to the RV and put Estee out and then back to the Church on the base for the 9:00 service. This was another nice service complete with communion and a baptism of a Major's baby girl. The services were attended by mostly black people and Lou and I so enjoyed it. All services were typical of the southern Baptist. Lot of Amens and Praise God, my kind of a service. The last hymn sung was one of our favorites of the Gaithers, He Lives, and indeed He does.
I baked a Key Lime pie yesterday and have a spiral ham to put into the oven and will have fresh brocolli w/ cheese sauce and baked potatoes and homemade apple sauce. We both agreed we would rather have our dinner here together and enjoy the day. We watched the sun come up together this morning and plan to go to the beach tonight to watch the sun set together.
Have enjoyed phone calls and e-mailed pictures from home today. It seems the saga of Lou's yard continues, Brion and his family were up this weekend and took pictures of the damage along with some blooming flowers. He snapped a picture of the yard and there certainly is damage there and then Casey went for a walk into the corn field and found a dead bear there. Wonder what is next. Think we will just enjoy the sunshine and let home take care of itself. Reality will set in quick enough.
Happy Easter one and all.
