Happy Birthday - Bill

March 10th Wednesday Low - 72 degrees = High 78 degrees

Happy Birthday Breakfast

Camille's French Toast Special

Bill and Joan ZinnertWow! We woke up this morning and as usual Lou checked the thermometer and it was 72 degrees. Opened the door of the RV and latched the heavy door back and left the screen in tact and enjoyed the fresh air.

Our SMART friends picked us up around 9:00 and we were off for breakfast at Camille's. You can see what we all ordered. Folks this is French toast at its best. This is homemade cinnamon toast made into French toast topped with Godiva white chocolate sauce and fresh Florida strawberries. One would have thought it would be sickish sweet, but it wasn't it was just plain good. I was a bit concerned about eating it, thinking there wouldn't be much protein in it to balance out the sugar, but it was amazing. I didn't eat anything again until 5:00 and my sugar remained steady.

After lingering over coffee and conversation we went to The Key West Butterfly and Nature Conservatory. The flowers around the place were beautiful, but I didn't think of taking a picture.
The gift shop was a wonderful experience; however, the items were very expensive and would look wonderful in a home that had a modern decor, certainly not my primitive style that I love.
DH did purchase me a life time candle with a butterfly floating the the paraffin oil. It is beautiful and will look nice in our RV. We were just getting settled at our campsite on Valentine's Day, and he had felt bad to think he had not purchased me something, so this was his very thoughtful way of surprising me.

After that experience Bill drove us around and pointed out other good places to eat. They have been coming here for five years and come the first of January and stay until the end of March, so they know their way around. We certainly have enjoyed their company and friendship and look forward to camping with them this summer with the SMART musters.

Tonight we rode up to Home Depot, looking for a portable generator, as next year, we hope to use that and save on our gas consumption. We stopped at a Cuban deli on the way home and got a Cuban sub, another great sandwich. We all laugh about eating out, we are slowing eating our way up and down the street of Key West.

Kids, we have made plans to stay here in Key West until March 22nd, then going to the Everglades and then on to Fort Myers for two days and then back to Scott's on the 26th and on to Mac Dill AFBase.
