When we awakened this morning, it was very overcast, so we got out the computer and checked the weather, which is usually wrong here, however, it assured us that it was to clear and be in the 70's with 60 percent humidity.

I fixed us a fresh bagel with cream cheese and sugar free peach jam and our usual coffee and juice and we enjoyed another fresh orange for desert. Did our usual morning devotions and Lou read us our scripture lesson from Mark, today we talked about the crumb eaters, we had been looking for that scripture, and finally came across it. I won't bore all of you with our discussion regarding the crumb eaters from a previous discussion, but now we both have the same visualization of crumb eaters!!

We walked a little shorter walk today, as Estee seems to be having problems with a hip again. We had stopped her medication after we got where it was warmer, but seems like she made need a reduced amount now. We also have to be careful of sand spurs here, one of our friends put boots on their dog when they go out. We have boots but they are at home.

We went to Thai Island for lunch which is a Japanese restaurant. No Kris and Michelle, I did not have Sushi. We started out with a Tom Kha Tofu Soup and Fried Wontons and we each had green tea, Lou had hot and I chose iced with lime. For our entree I ordered fried veggies w/shrimp and Lou ordered his with pork. All was very tasty; however, I did not care for the tofu. Now the desert menu was also impressive, and we chose the Key-Lime Pie served with coconut sauce and fresh strawberries. YUMMY. When the waitress served it she apologized as they had just made it and it hadn't cooled enough and was a bit soft. It was wonderful. Soon the owner was back and told us she had a surprise for us and she brought us out a piece of Key Lime Cheesecake served on a bed of mangoes with whipped cream and strawberries, her treat. Wow, must have been our lucky day. Of course, we couldn't offend her and not eat it, we all but licked the platter clean. Note from the pictures how neatly they were served.

After our tummies were full again, we headed out to the base at Sigsbee, for gasoline in the car at $2.92 and on the NEX for a few groceries and back home to sit in the sunshine and enjoy our books. Lou is on his 8th book in this Eagles series. I suggested that we have Kris mail the rest of the series to Scott's so he could finish the series before we get home, but he went to Borders and bought a couple books to hold him over. I am so glad that he has taken the time to enjoy his books again.

Tonight my thoughts are on Michelle, our granddaughter, she receives her sash as a member of the National Honor Society. Lou and I were at the program when it was announced she had been elected and so tonight is the presentation. We are very proud of her and pray that she will continue with the proper priorities as she enters college next year. God has put many influential people in her path in the last eighteen years and we are so thankful for each and everyone of them. She has met many challenges in her young life that most adults never have to face. May God continue to guide her paths.

Think this has been a week of memories and has spurred many discussions of events of the past and memories that are still very prominent in our minds. Thankfully we can remember them and feel free to discuss them, laugh, cry and make them a part of our lives today.
