Lunch w/ Friends

Boca Chica Naval Air Station
Where we had lunch with Bill, Joan, Jim and Judy

The plane is a F-18 Naval Plane
This single tree shades almost the whole block on Eaton Street. The name of the tree is Banyan tree. It just keeps putting up new shoots that continue to grow. There is one of these such trees outside of the Hindu Temple in India

March 4th - Thursday 63 degrees low - 64 degrees high Beautiful sunshine and breezy.

I have come to realize that here in Key West it is normal for the temperature to remain at a constant temperature as long as the sunshine is out. I have noted that the temp we have in the am when we get up will be the same all day long. Something else, it can rain at any minute with only a dark looking cloud. So much for my ability to predict the weather.

Today has been a day to get a few odd jobs done before going out to lunch. We decided it was time to dump and refill our fresh water, and we had problems with one of the jacks going up, so Lou donned his flight suit from forty years ago and crawled under the RV to check out the problem, hopefully that is taken care of. He had a door latch on a compartment that wasn't working properly so he replaced the screw that was securing it and now that is working right also. Amazing, his flight suit that is over forty years old, still fits, I wonder how many of us can boast of that feat?? How about it ladies, would our wedding gowns still fit???

Our lunch was fun. Lou and I didn't know where we were going, Bill drove, so we followed him and we ended up at the Naval Air Base at a typical little bar and grill, with a beautiful beach and boat dock, the only problem was, it was 58 degrees and windy, so we crammed ourselves into the end of the bar and devoured fish and chips and drank beer. It was a nice time to catch up and make plans for further events, but need to have some warmer weather to do some of the things that were suggested.

Lou and I got into our car and turned the heater on and came home and made a pot of coffee and enjoyed some of the Peanut butter cookies that DH had made last night. It is very cloudy and dark and the forecast tells of record lows tonight, so sounds like a good night to pop some corn and watch NCIS. Lou and I are really enjoying the first season of it.

Tomorrow we are going to go to Eco-Discovery Center, as that display is all inside and will be warm. Do some of these things while we are waiting for the weather to warm up.
