A private home at Truman Annex

March 11th - Thursday 75 degrees low - 87 degrees high - Hot and Humid w/ breeze

Last night we slept with our windows open. Ha a nice breeze blowing over our bed and Estee took advantage of the breeze and slept by the window on my side of the bed. We had to be up early this morning, as we (our camping group) had asked the Navy Captain for coffee and doughnuts to show him how much we all appreciated being able to camp on his surf. All went very nicely; however, this gentleman will be leaving here soon and will have a replacement coming before the next camping season.

I took advantage of a good morning, and cleaned all the way through. Even used a ladder and cleaned all of the vents in the ceiling, took all cushions off the sofa and ran the sweeper over all of the furniture. Lou sat in the sun and read while I did that and tonight he is suffering the results of that task!!

He decided this afternoon we should dump and fill up with water, so we put the slide in and such and dumped and now have all fresh water on board and a clean house.

We drove down town tonight and parked at Truman Annex and walked over town and walked and walked some more. It is spring break and the whole town is full of kids wanting sun, water and companionship. Lou and I decided on an adult restaurant and Italian food. As we sat down at a beautifully cushioned sofa and table, our waiter brought us fresh olive oil w/ balsamic vinegar and a lovely loaf of freshly baked Italian bread for dipping. Lou ordered a Linguine w/huge shrimp. I ordered Chicken parmigiana, each were served with a wonderful fresh salad with so many fresh veggies in it, with a gracious Italian dressing. We both brought food home with us. Of course, we also had to have Key Lime Pie.

The picture of the house you can see I took for Tim. This is a typical home in the Truman Annex, most sell for three MILLION and all have a strong building code. All have tin roofs. They are just beautiful and the gardens and water treatments are so pleasing to look at. There are blooming flowers everywhere and from what we have been told there are always flowers blooming and many many orchids and of course, all have the chickens, roosters running around.
They are protected, so they do have the run of the streets, but no one seems to mind.

Our RV park is really clearing out. We put Estee out without a leash now, we both love where we are even without electric and sewer. We have wonderful green grass and a shade tree. The family from Missouri is leaving tomorrow and two left today. Our pool opens this weekend and Lou and I are looking forward to that.
