Lunch on the Water - Church

Simonton Street
Sunday - March 7th

Our view from the restaurant we ate at on Saturday. This was a special place better know at the Golden Arches or Mickey D's. Not a bad view huh???

March 7th Sunday 60 degrees low and high was 72 degrees with the ever blowing breeze from the north.
We dressed quickly and left for our church service. We arrived at church and couldn't find a place to park, so DH let me out and he made a tour of Key West trying to find a place to park. The city is over run with tourists on Sunday; however his perseverance paid off and he joined me at the entrance of the church just as the choir was ready to walk down the aisle. A note of interest, an usher told me where we could park next week, that they use for regular attenders.
We are going to stay on longer, we have come to enjoy our new church and the pastor.

We had phone calls from the kids today and they have arrived back in the states after their quick trip to Italy. Their week passed very quickly and it sounds like some good lessons were learned regarding the generosity of the natives. A rather costly experience. We are thankful for their safe return and anxious to see pictures and hear of their adventures.

After church today we went to Camille's for breakfast. Lou ordered one of their famous omletts made with lobster and shrimp and fresh vegetables. This was served with the wonderful Cuban coffee that we have come to have a special taste for. I ordered corned beef hash and dried eggs and it was served with fried potatoes that had a different spice on them that made them very tasty. Perhaps oregano or something similar.

After lunch we drove to The Greater Key West Airport and watched the airplane arrive and depart. We had a wonderful site to park that gave us a vantage point of seeing all planes coming and going. We knew it had to be a busy airport as there are always planes in the air. Right from my "little red-baron" to the jet liners.

Tomorrow we are going to have to do some long range planning. Lou has made a list of different places he wants to eat at before we leave, and we have plans made with several couples this week. We found out today the people across the drive from us are from Towanda and will be here until the first of May. They know several people we know from Wellsboro. I always find these associations interesting. A lady from church was from Sayre and she had to chat with us also. Indeed, God did create a small world.
